Questions, problems or ideas? Every email lands in a real inbox, and I read everything.
Email: emils@ozols.dev. I usually reply within a couple of days. Choru is made by one person, so a short description of what you expected and what happened instead helps a lot.
Frequently asked
Where are my chores stored?
On your iPhone and in your own iCloud, so they appear on every device signed in to the same Apple Account. Choru has no account of its own, and no server of mine holds your chores. Choru also keeps an automatic backup copy in your iCloud Drive, under Settings, Backups. The one thing that does leave your phone is anonymous usage statistics, which you can turn off in Settings, Help out; the privacy policy lists exactly what they contain.
How do I share chores with my family?
Open Settings, Family, and start a family. Choru shows a code: the other person scans it with their iPhone and joins. Everyone then sees the family's chores on their own phone. Each person needs their own Apple Account. There is a step-by-step guide too.
What happens if I leave a family?
Your own chores, streak and coins stay on your phone. Leave from Settings, Family. If you started the family, you can remove it instead, which ends the sharing for everyone.
How do I set up a phone for a kid?
Choru asks for a parent PIN when you start a family. If you skipped it, tap your own name in Settings, Family and choose Set a parent PIN. When the kid joins the family, they mark themselves as a kid. A kid's phone then locks itself to their own list, and any grown-up can unlock it with the PIN.
I reinstalled Choru. Where did my chores go?
They come back from iCloud once Choru has synced, which can take a moment on a fresh install. If they do not, open Settings, Backups and restore the automatic copy.
How do I delete my data?
If you are in a family, leave it first. Then delete the app and remove its iCloud data: in the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then iCloud, manage your storage, choose Choru and delete its data.
